How to remove moving people and objects in videos

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to remove moving people and objects in videos in just a few clicks using Adobe After Effects.

The following technique requires After Effects 16.1 (released in April 2019) or a more recent version. It is available as a stand-alone application and as part of Adobe Creative Cloud.

The magic behind this technique is the content-aware fill technology. You might be familiar with it from Photoshop, but it works somewhat differently in After Effects, when moving people or objects are concerned.
Indeed, while Photoshop guesses what should fill an area depending on the rest of the picture, After Effects analyses previous and following frames to determine what is behind the person or object that you want to remove, often resulting in a flawless content fill.
